In Loving Memory of Leroy James Muecke
January 25, 1936 – October 10, 2026
Leroy James Muecke, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur, passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Knippa, Texas, to Edna Anna “Redhage" and Charlie Muecke. Leroy lived a life marked by dedication, loyalty, perseverance, and lasting passion for creating things that would endure.
Leroy believed deeply in the value of hard work and took pride in building things with his own hands. He spent 35 years working for the Texas Highway Department before beginning a new chapter as the owner and operator of Gold Star Exterminators in Del Rio, Texas. For the next 40 years, he built and operated several businesses and continued to be active in the business until his parting.
An entrepreneur at heart, Leroy was always looking toward the next project or improvement possibility. Whether he was developing a business, constructing a building, or tending a garden, he found fulfillment in turning ideas into reality. He was happiest when he was busy, productive and working towards something meaningful.
Leroy is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, LeeAnne, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, memories, and companionship. He is also survived by his children and their spouses; Curtis and Nancy Muecke, Steven and Stacey Muecke, Sharon and Patrick Galloway.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, and Emily Muecke; Tyler and Shaun Seaver; Lily and Sophie Galloway. He is also survived by his brothers Carl Muecke and Glen Muecke. Sister in laws Carole Jo Allen and Charlotte Muecke.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Though his hands are now at rest, the things he built, the work he accomplished, and the memories he leaves behind will continue for generations to come.
