Julio Enrique Montenegro, born on May 22, 1941, passed away on March 14, 2020 in New Braunfels, TX. Born in Remedio, Cuba, as a teenager he moved to Long Island, New York. After graduating high school, Julio joined the Air Force in January of 1961 and served his country for three years, 11 months, and 9 days. In August of 1961, he married Miss Dorothy Esther Carpenter and together they raised five wonderful children. Julio is preceded in death by his mother Maria Banso. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy, his son and daughter-n-law, Julio and Phyllis Montenegro, daughter and son-n-law, Chris & Sterling Haywood, son and daughter-n-law, Anthony & Erika Montenegro, son and daughter-n-law, Gerard & Rolanda Montenegro, and son and daughter-n-law, Corey & Linda Montenegro. Julio also had adopted daughters Della Aridge, Shakia Fowler, and Michele Harris. Julio was blessed by all of his seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two sister-n-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
