Janie loved working with pre-school and special needs children; she spent 34 years working in education until her retirement in January of 2016. She worked part-time selling Avon, received Avon's Presidential Awards on several occasions. She loved selling Avon and made friends from her clientele. She spent her last years, enjoying her life; she loved to partake in a Bunco group, loved playing loteria with her family, loved fried chicken, enjoyed watching novelas, enjoyed traveling, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.

We will be forever grateful for all the time that she invested into making meaningful memories, from taking us on vacations to California, Utah, Idaho to standing in line, at 5:00 am or earlier, at Buena Vista so that we could get that one particular teacher. She taught some of us how to drive in big cities and not fear getting lost in shady places to encouraging us to continue our own personal growth and education. She encouraged us to be honest, love what we did, and do what we loved with passion. This showed in her cooking, she did not like cooking, but she loved us and cooked for us with passion. She taught us that Elvis is The King and each of his songs is a representation of a memory we cherish.

Janie, you will be forever missed and loved.
