Juan Carlos Moreno, born on January 7, 1953, to Juan Antonio and Eudelia Moreno, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who dedicated his life to his family and those he loved.He dedicated 53 years of his life to music, sharing his passion and talent with countless people. His love for music began at the age of 12 when he started playing with Los Sonics. Over the years, he formed his own bands, The Latin Sounds and Calibre, later joining Texas Tall Boys. His musical journey culminated in an 18-year career with Los Aguilares, where he brought joy to many before retiring.Beyond music, Juan Carlos spent 20 years as an insurance agent with American National before transitioning to his role as a Pre-Need Specialist at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. In this position, his compassion and care touched many lives.He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Antonio Moreno; his father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Beatrice Garcia; and his brothers-in-law, Frank Garcia Jr. and David Hererra.Juan Carlos will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and work, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, talent, and love. He is survived by the love of his life and center of his world, his devoted wife of 51 years, Sylvia Ann; his daughter, Carol Marie, and her husband, Craig Jackson of New Braunfels, TX; his son, John Jacob, and his wife, Angel Blue Moreno of Austin, TX. He was a proud grandfather to Caitlyn, Ethan, Caleb, Vesper, Raven, and Megan, and a beloved great-grandfather to Riley, Gary III, and Grayson. He is also survived by his brother- in- law, Telo Garcia, his sister- in -law, Carmela Garcia, his mother, Eudelia Moreno; his sister, Leticia and her husband, Eusebio Villarreal; his brother, Cesar Moreno; and his sister, Yari Herrera. Pallbearers will be Ethan Alvarez, Caleb Jackson, Alex Pinillo, Jaime Mancinas, Roger Garcia, Trinidad Rosales and honorary pallbearer, Craig Jackson.Juan Carlos's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, February 20th, followed by entombment at Saints Peter and Paul Garden Mausoleum in New Braunfels, TX.Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Juan Carlos has found eternal peace in the presence of the Lord. His faith was his guiding light, and we trust in God's promise that we will one day be reunited. As we cherish his memory, we draw strength from the love he shared and the assurance that he now rests in God's loving embrace.
