Juan Gonzalez, age 82, entered into rest on Monday February 21, 2022 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on February 22, 1939 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francisca Rincon Gonzalez, his father, Arturo Gonzalez, Sr., wife of 37 years Zapopan Hernandez Gonzalez and sister, Irene Gonzalez Cardenas. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Maria Elena Galvan Gonzalez. Children: Jeanette (Enrique) Huerta, Cynthia (Alfonso) Coronado, Henry (Sally) Gonzalez, Nancy Gonzalez, and David Gonzalez. Brother: Arturo (Mary) Gonzalez Jr., six grandchildren, one great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Proud U.S. Army veteran, retired from the National Park Service after 35 years of service, and former member of the SFDR Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, 5:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery is scheduled for Monday, March 14, 2022, at 10:45 am with full military honors.
