Juan Medina Gaitan, age 88, entered into rest on Saturday, July 25, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 17, 1938 in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Monica Medina Gaitan; the mother of his children, Concepcion Gaitan; his sons, Juan Gaitan Jr. and Hector Montalvo; daughter Maria Del Rosario Gaitan, his grandson, Jerry Valencia; his son-in-law, Augustine Valencia Jr.; and his brothers, Jaime Pacheco and Jose Pacheco.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Rangel de Gaitan; his children, Idalia Valencia; Monica Trevino and her husband, Reymundo Trevino Jr.; Jose Gaitan and his wife, Maria Gaitan; Manuel Gaitan and his wife, Beatrice Gaitan; and Dora Gaitan and her husband, Roy Rodriguez. He is also survived by his siblings, Alfredo Pacheco, Severiano Pacheco, Heriberto Pacheco, and Manuela Rios; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday , July 29, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; prayer service at 6:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation will continue on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave., Del Rio, Texas, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Guadalupe Mora.

Followed by the interment at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy. 90 East, Del Rio, Texas,
