Jose A. Segura, age 80, born on April 13, 1944, entered into rest peacefully to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in Del Rio, Texas.

He was the owner of and cook at the original Mexico Tipico restaurant on Dr. Fermin Calderon Blvd. Jose worked at multiple Del Rio restaurants throughout his career including Club Cafe, Red Top Inn, Catfish Cafe, Betty's Ranch House and Mi Casa Restaurant.

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Hedelmira Segura, first born son Jose M. Segura with wife Susan Segura and granddaughters Emily Segura and Isabella Segura, second born son Ramon A. Segura with wife Ana Segura, granddaughter Adessa Segura and grandson Max Segura, and also leaves behind his only daughter Ismene Tovar with husband Gilberto Tovar, granddaughter Selene Paredes and grandson Robert Paredes. He also leaves behind nieces Martha Rocio Segura Castillo and Liliana Segura Castillo.

Jose's passion for cooking touched all who knew him. As he loved to see people enjoy and not go without food, contributions in his name to a local food bank are appreciated.

There will be a Memorial Service with a Rosary for Jose A. Segura on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 12:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

Jose was a true example of kindness and humility and leaves an indelible mark on those who were fortunate

enough to know him.
