Jose D. Montoya, age 95, entered into rest on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on March 19, 1930, in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Rosa Montoya, his daughter Lourdes Montoya, and his grandson Russell Hernandez.

He is survived by his children Marta Montoya, Adriana Gallegos (Arnulfo), Victor Montoya (Anna), Ruben Montoya (Rosy), Raul Montoya, (Ruth), Rocio Martinez (John), Blanca Montoya, Alfredo Montoya (Rosario), 14 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation continues Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St, Del Rio, Texas.

The interment will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
