Jose J. Cruz, Sr., age 90, entered into rest on Monday, July 11, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 22, 1926 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Mr. Severino & Mrs. Maria De Jesus Cruz Sr. Brothers; Manuel Cruz, Camilo Cruz, Severino Cruz, Jr. and his sisters Irene Charles and Maria Ignacia Cruz. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Maria Esther Cruz, Sons; Jose J. (Maria) Cruz, Jr., David Cruz, Daughters; Grace (Jerry) Gonzales, Mary Jane (David) Turner, Sonya Cruz, and Cynthia Barajas, Sisters; Diamantina Pena and Gloria Rodriguez. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gentleman with the honor of Pallbearers, Jose J. Cruz Jr., David Cruz, Jerry Gonzales Jr., Zachary Austin Cruz, Jerry Gonzales, and David Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Turner and Braxton Ogun. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brackettville Sunset Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Blaisé Catholic Church in Spofford, Texas. Interment to follow at Spofford Cemetery with Military Honor rendered by the United States Marine Corp.
