Our Father Jose Jonathan Cordoba, Sr., loving husband and beloved father of seven, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 8:24 PM to be with our Lord at the age of 82. Our dad had lived a great life. Jose was born on December 3, 1936 in Las Cuevas (Acu�a), Mexico to Santiago and Felipa Cordoba. He married our mother, Maria Esther Perez Cordoba on February 3, 1962. At 19, he came to the United States and worked in San Saba, Texas on a turkey farm until he moved and continued to raise his family in Aberdeen and Pocatello, Idaho where he engaged in several businesses. Many years later he returned to Del Rio where he retired. Jose is preceded in death by his daughter Ana J. Pineda and son Jose Cordoba. Jose is survived by his loving wife Maria Esther Cordoba and his sons Santiago Cordoba and fiancé Gloria Herrera, Jose J. Cordoba, Jr., Josue Cordoba and wife Mary Lou Cordoba; daughters Mary Silva Ortega and husband Eduardo, Patricia A. Knoll; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Services will conclude after the visitation.
