Johnnie Wade Moore, 90, of Del Rio, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 18.

Wade was born on February 20, 1934 to Iva Christall Moore and Henry Lee Moore in Del Rio, Texas. After high school, he joined the Navy and married Mildred Smith. Wade and Millie had three children, Wade Lee, Edith Lorrett, and Tammela Sue.

Wade worked as a mechanic and an oilfield worker in his early years, Then as an Iron worker he worked on the Hwy 90 Bridge and Amistad Dam. He and Millie moved to the Gulf Coast, where he began shrimping in San Leon, TX. Millie passed away in 1986, after which Wade continued the family shrimping business.

Wade later met and married Leslie Perry. Wade and Leslie retired in 1996 and moved to the Vega Verde on the Rio Grande in Del Rio, TX. Wade loved his property and enjoyed having his family visit as often as possible.

Wade enjoyed spending his retirement years fishing & boating.

Wade was predeceased by his first wife, Millie; his second wife, Leslie; his parents, siblings, Jim, Marilyn, his twin brother, Weldon, Zoe, Norman, and Caroline; by his brother-in-laws, Robert Holzhauser and Johnny Smith and a grandson Jesse Thomas Perkins and by a lifetime of friends and lucky pets.

He is survived by his children, Wade Lee Moore , Edie Moore and Tammy Helms; his son-in-law, Hollis Helms; his grandchildren, Jamie Lee Wilson, Taylor Helms Becker and Jeffrey Wade Moore; his great-grandsons, Joseph Wade Wilson and Joshua Matthew Wilson; his sister-in-law Lora Holzhauser; his beloved dog, Sam; and by countless other friends, family and admirers.

A celebration of life is being scheduled for later in the year.
