Joel Cardenas Ozuna August 31, 1956 March 26, 2012 Joel Cardenas Ozuna was reunited with the Lord Monday, March 26, 2012, at the age of 55. He passed away in his home, in San Jose, Ca. He was born August 31, 1956 in Del Rio, Texas to Arnulfo G. Ozuna and Anita Cardenas Ozuna. He is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Cardenas Ozuna, and brother, Arnulfo C. Ozuna, Jr. Joel was a Christian, brought up in faith by his parents at Primera Iglesia Bautista. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and great-uncle. Joel will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends: Bob and Dianne Johnson, Max Godines, Eloy Magdaleno, Joel Magdaleno, Robert Serna and his UPS family, of San Jose, Ca. He served in the United States Marine Corp. After duty, he moved to San Jose, Ca. where he resided for 30 years and established a 25-year work career with UPS. He is survived by his father, Arnulfo G. Ozuna of Del Rio, Sister: Sylvia Ann Cedillo and husband Gustavo of Fort Worth, Texas, Brother: Lionel C. Ozuna and wife May of Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also survived by a sister-in-law: Oralia Ozuna Newton of Del Rio, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers are: Lionel C. Ozuna, Gustavo F. Cedillo, Gustavo Cristobal Cedillo, Arnulfo Eli Ozuna, Leo Martinez, Jr. and Oscar Ozuna. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chapel of Remembrance. A prayer service will be held at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10:00am at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Pastor Ruben Chariez, officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #595.
