Joe Henry Castro, age 73, entered into rest on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on August 8, 1943 in Brackettville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Castro and Magdalena Terrazas. Joe Henry will have been married to his beautiful wife for 54 years on April 14. They fell in love with each other more every day. You did not see one without the other. He honored his family by being the first member to earn a College degree. Joe Henry served his country with honor and distinction with the United States Army. During his military service he was stationed in Texas, Alaska, Vietnam, Germany and Oklahoma working in the department of the Judge Advocate General. Anyone who knows Joe has many stories they could tell of how he made them laugh. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. You could find him sharing stories about them to friends and strangers alike. There is peace knowing he will live on in our hearts. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years Charlotte Castro; son David Castro and wife Amanda; daughters Denise Richey and husband Alan, Diane Alexander and husband Kevin; brother Johnny Castro and 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
