Jimmy Jay Bejarano was born on October 2, 1963 to Crencencio Bejarano and Judith Zavala of California. In 2006, he moved to Texas, where he met the love of his life, Lulu Bejarano. Jimmy and Lulu first married April 2, 2010 at the Val Verde County Courthouse, and as their faith and love grew stronger, they married again at St Joseph's Church on June 28, 2017. Jimmy was employed at Walmart as an APM where he met so many beautiful people. He was so very anxious to return to work but never had the chance. Always a car enthusiast, he had a passionate love for his El Camino "Betsy" and his 02 Honda CBR 954RR "Skeeter". Jimmy was very strong in his faith and his love for God. He was an ACTS member and went on retreat in 2014. Following his own retreat, he was actively involved in the church and served on team in 2017. Shortly after his return, on May 19, 2017, he was diagnosed with stage 3B rectal cancer that metastasized into his liver, upgrading him to a stage 4. He endured six weeks of chemo and radiation, 8 surgeries, 6 trips to the ER, ICU stays, 2 blood transfusions, and unimaginable pain. He had only 6 months left of treatment, and through it all he never spent one day alone in the hospital, as his devoted and loving wife was always by his side. Jimmy didn't let cancer win; after fighting for 9 long months, he had won and defeated cancer. Despite having beat cancer, during surgery on February 19, 2018, he developed a pulmonary embolism that his body could not overcome. His valiant fight ended, and he entered into God's kingdom. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mom Judith Zavala, his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Crensencio Hill Bejarano, and his grandpa Jay Zavala. He leaves behind his wife Lulu Bejarano of Costa Rica, his father Cresencio R. Bejarano and wife Virginia Bejarano of California, his grandmother Simona Zavala, his brothers Danny Bejarano and family of California, Christopher Bejarano and family of Campwood, Eddie Garcia and family of California, and his sisters Tina Bejarano and family of California and Kim Lira and family of California. He also leaves behind 7 kids whom loved him dearly, Brehon Bejarano, Brandon Bejarano and Jessica Rivera of California, Tyly Bell, Jenny Salazar, Jacob Valadez and Stephanie Valadez of Del Rio. He also leaves behind 7 beautiful grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins he loved dearly. He also leaves behind his buddy/cat "Simba", who brought him so much joy. Jimmy was an amazing man, full of jokes, life, and love. He is gone too soon and will be terribly missed. We love you ❤. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gentlemen with the Honor of Pallbearers will be Danny Bejarano, Jacob Valadez, Lupe Jimenez, Josue Soto, Michael Jimenez and Brandon Bejarano. Honorary Pallbearers; Christopher Bejarano, Stan Bell, Cristian Bermea and Eddie Salazar, Jr. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
