Jesus Hidalgo Vasquez, age 66, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Brackettville, Texas. He was born on January 21, 1958.

Jesus Hidalgo was called home by the Lord on December 18, 2024, in his home on Joe York Ranch, Brackettville Texas. Jesús was born to Alfredo Hidalgo and Micaela Vásquez. In Nacimiento de Los Mascogos, Mexico. Jesus came to the United States in 1977 where he started working for Joe York Sr. on Joe York Ranch. After several years at Joe York Ranch, he became foreman and remained there for 47 years. The love and passion for Joe York Ranch was very unique. He drove the 18-wheeler, operated tractors, and tended to all of the livestock. His loyalty as a son, father, husband and friend was above all. He would give a helping hand when and where he was able to. You would find Jesus volunteering for many events within his community, his love of cooking, he would man the BBQ pit and cook for many people. The love and care he held for family members and friends was genuine. All it would take is a glance at the smile he would put on when seeing him. A great son, father, and friend will be greatly missed. His memory will always be in our hearts.

Jesus is survived by Maria E. Hidalgo (wife); sons Saul E. Hidalgo (Kay Hidalgo) Omaha, NE; proudly served US Air Force, Jesus A. Hidalgo Spofford, TX, Juan (Tito) Hidalgo (Linda Hidalgo) Cypress, TX; proudly served US. army, and Francisco (Pancho) Hidalgo Cypress, TX. Grandchildren John Hidalgo Lincoln, NE, Yesenia Hidalgo, New Braunfels, TX, Virginia Hidalgo, Colorado Springs, CO, Dominic Hidalgo, Arlington, TX, and Leeland Hidalgo, Brackettville, TX and several nieces and nephews. Santa Hidalgo of Cleveland, TX is the mother of his children. He is preceded in death by father Alfredo Hidalgo, sister Estela Vasquez and sister Romana Vasquez.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Brackettville Sunset Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Templo Elienai at 404 W. El Paso St., Brackettville, Texas.

The interment will follow at Seminole Indian Scout Cemetery.

Después de varios años en Joe York rancho, se convierte en forman y permanece allí durante 47 años. El amor y la pasión por Joe York rancho fue muy único. Condució el vehículo de 18 ruedas, operó tractores y atendía a todo el ganado. Su lealtad como hijo, padre, esposo y amigo estaba sobre todo. Él daría una mano cuando y donde pudiera. Encontrarías a Jesús siendo voluntario para muchos eventos dentro de su comunidad, su amor por la cocina, él sería el hogar de la barbacoa y cocinaría para muchas personas. El amor y el cuidado que tenía por sus familiares y amigos era genuino. Bastaría una mirada a la sonrisa que pondría al verlo. Extrañaremos mucho a un gran hijo, padre y amigo. Su memoria siempre estará en nuestros corazones.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 26 de diciembre de 2024 de 3:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. en Brackettville Sunset Funeral Home.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el viernes 27 de diciembre de 2024 a las 11:00 a. m. en el Templo Elienai en 404 W. El Paso St., Brackettville, Texas.
