It is with great sadness we announce that Jesus Manuel Cruz, born in Humacao, Puerto Rico and lifelong residence of Del Rio, Texas, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 5th, 2022, at the age of 67. Jesse is proceeded in death by his parents, Felicitas and Pascual Cruz.
Jesse proudly served in the uniformed services of the United States Army, from 1973 to 1979 where he received the National Defense Service Medal Expert M16, Hand Grenade. While in the army, his passion for the automotive parts industry began. After his services in the Military, he began his career in the automotive business. Jesse worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts for 11 years, where he gained a second family. In which we are forever grateful for taking such great care of him. Jesse was a sports fanatic through out his life. He played basketball during his school days while also being an alter boy. His love for God never ended but flourished into adulthood at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He will always be remembered by his big heart, big hugs, big laugh, and his God-loving soul.
He is survived by his wife Evangelina Cruz and children Sandra Hernandez, Raul Garcia, and Patricia Garcia. Brothers; Daniel Cruz (wife Melissa), Gregory Cruz, and William (Billy) Cruz. Sisters; Marlene Gilbertson (husband Mel), Theresa Cruz, Rachel Lane, (husband Jim), Virginia Carlton (husband Mike), Angela Rodriguez (late husband Jess), and Stella Ramirez (husband Antonio). Grandchildren, Jassive Chapoy, Brandi Cardenas, Bryan Contreras, Cassandra Cortes, Eric Garcia, Kristi Garcia, and Christopher Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was adored and loved by all. Jesse will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
Christian Burial Mass will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery
