Our beloved father, brother, grandfather and uncle Jesus J. Cardenas, 59 passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas with his two children by his side. Jesse was born on November 29, 1962 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio Q. and Elisa F. Cardenas and his brothers, Jose Cardenas and Antonio (Tony) Cardenas, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jesus J. Cardenas, Jr. and Jennifer E. Cardenas, their mother Melinda S. Cardenas and his grandson Jesus J. Cardenas III. Sisters, Carmen Cardenas, Rosie C. Ortiz and Guadalupe C. (George) Menjares. Nephew, Richard (Janet) Ortiz III, their children, Richard IV, Lucila, Damian (Jennifer), Joseph and Elisa I. Ortiz. Nieces, Lucinda Ortiz and Selina Ortiz. All of whom he loved dearly. Jesse was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very talented handyman with various hobbies including woodworking, carpentry, masonry and home improvement projects. He was a very cheerful person who made friends with everyone. He had a great sense of humor and was an intensely deep and bright storyteller. Jesse will be greatly missed, but will remain in our hearts forever. Gentlemen with the honor of pallbearers: Jesus J. Cardenas III, Richard Ortiz III, George Menjares, Luis Alberto Fernandez, Richard Ortiz IV, Damian Ortiz and Joseph Ortiz. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 3:00 PM. Interment to follow at San Felipe Cemetery.
