Jesus De La Rosa Barrientos, age 80, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Del Rio. He was born on January 15, 1946, in Suchil, Durango, Mexico.
He shared 66 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Manuela Barrientos, a union defined by a lifelong commitment and shared experiences. He was consistently recognized for his strong work ethic, compassion for others, and engaging, personable nature.
He was a man of remarkable dedication and work ethic; known for his perseverance and willingness to provide for those he loved. Beyond his hard work, Jesus had a deep passion for music and performing. Music was not only a source of joy for him but also a way for him to connect with others—bringing people together through his presence, talent, and spirit. Whether performing or not, it was an integral part of who he was and how he expressed his love for life.
He is survived by his children Jesus Menchaca Barrientos (Kim), Jesus Barrientos (Alejandra), Guillermo Barrientos, Armando Barrientos, Jorge Barrientos (Brenda), Ana María Barrientos, Juanita Barrientos, Cinthia Hinojosa (Jimmy); his brother Francisco Barrientos and sisters Amparo Robles and Maria Perez.
He was preceded in death by his children, Fernando Barrientos, Jose Alonso Barrientos, and Martha Barrientos; his parents, Gregorio and Emilia Barrientos; and his brother Pablo Barrientos.
Jesus leaves behind a large and loving family, including many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to honor his legacy and carry forward the values he instilled.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.
The visitation will continue on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 509 W. Garza St., Del Rio, Texas.
The interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
Jesus will be remembered for his unwavering strength, his love for music and performance, and his deep devotion to family. His legacy of hard work, joy, and love will live on in all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
