Jessica Guerra Rodriguez returned to her heavenly home on November 30th, 2017 at the age of 34 after a long and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Jessica was born on January 17th, 1983 in Del Rio, Texas. A graduate from Del Rio High School, she went on to graduate from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2005 with a BA in Communication Disorders as well as earn her MA in 2007. She worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist at the Parkinson's Outreach Program, NeuroRestorative, SilverTree Nursing and Rehab, Eden Home, Paramount Nursing Care, home health, school contracts and most recently at Regent Care at Blanco, where she worked for nine years.
She was part of the San Antonio chapter of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and initiated a survivor brunch to bring more survivors together. Jessica was loved more than anyone in the whole world by so many more than she knew. Her loving memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her many friends and family.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Alicia Rodriguez; father, Ralph Guerra and wife Melinda; sisters, Natalie Guerra Novak and husband Robert, Angelica Guerra Bolding and husband Miguel; Christina S. Sweet and wife Julie and their daughter Evangeline; brother, Daniel A. Guerra; uncles and aunts, Crescencio Rodriguez, Tomas Rodriguez and son Adrian Briones, Juan Rodriguez and wife Cynthia, Abelardo Rodriguez, Rosario Montoya and husband Alfredo and son Cristian, Henry L. Guerra, Billy R. Guerra and wife Aurora, Luis A. Guerra and wife Sylvia; grandparents, Peggy Jo Lara and husband Maclovio, Raphael A. Guerra and wife Alcira along with numerous cousins and nieces. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Crescencio O. Rodriguez and wife Irma.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Private interment will be held in Austin, Texas. The Family will be receiving friends and relatives for a reception at the San Felipe Lions Club located at 101 Lions Dr. following the mass.
