Jane Marie Persyn
Whaley
Sep 19, 1961 — Oct 24, 2024
Jane Marie Persyn Whaley passed away surrounded by family on October 24, 2024. She was born on September 19, 1961 in San Antonio to Ronnie and Gladys (Migura) Persyn. Together with her sister Julie, the family moved to Del Rio in January 1962. Jane attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Del Rio High School. She moved to San Angelo after high school and lived there for several years.
After returning to Del Rio, Jane married Billy Whaley in 1984 and worked for the Del Rio Bank and Trust for several years. After that, she worked with Del Rio Gas Company as a general manager until they sold the business. Later, Jane started her own water company WH2O and with her friendly and caring personality, she grew the business and learned to be self-sufficient.
Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her sons, Ronnie and Marshall, and granddaughter Emma were the most important persons in her life and she loved them deeply. Jane was very supportive of Ronnie's time while he was enlisted with the U.S. Army and was proud of his service to our country. Jane and Marshall spent a lot of time together working with his show goats when he attended Comstock ISD and she enjoyed her time at the various livestock shows Marshall competed in. Later on, the highlights of her summers occurred when Emma would spend a couple of months with her.
Jane always had a place in her heart for animals and raised a variety of animals throughout the years. Growing up, she showed lambs through 4-H and helped raise calves, an orphan fawn, and several raccoons over the years. And she always had several pet dogs to keep her company.
Jane is survived by her sons Ronnie Whaley, Marshall Whaley, and granddaughter Emma Whaley; her sister Julie Novak and husband Charles Novak; former daughter-in-law Nickie Whaley; former husband Billy Whaley; nephew Ryan Novak, niece Sarah Franklin, and their families; her uncle Carroll Migura, aunt Ernestine Persyn, several cousins, and close friends including Joan Ford and Mary Riggs.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ronnie and Gladys Persyn, and uncles and aunts Larry Persyn, Marie Migura, Emory and Betty Migura, and Jim and Jonette Persyn.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00am and memorial service at 11:00am. Burial will be at Saint Andrew Catholic Cemetery #2 in Pleasanton next to Jane's parents at a later date.
