Jake was born to Jose and Gertrudes Garza as the youngest of five children. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mara Leticia Lomas. Jake is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rodgella Rebecca Garza, his children, Beatrice Jeanette Garza and Jacob Nathaniel Garza, and his siblings, Maria L. Garza Encarnacion Pastore, Martha Laura Felty, and Jose Arturo Garza.

A true champion for our community, Jake dedicated two decades of his life to serving as a law enforcement officer for the Del Rio Police Department. His commitment and dedication to his work led him to rise through the ranks, ultimately retiring as a Corporal.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, located at 2020 North Bedell Avenue in Del Rio, Texas.

A chapel service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 10 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

Following the service, Jake will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, located at 5144 East US Highway 90 in Del Rio, Texas.
