Jaime C. Sanchez Sr., 92, born January 6, 1929, has peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born on January 6, 1929. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elsa G Sanchez, daughter Mary Ann Ortiz (Abelardo) Del Rio, TX, son Jaime C. Jr. (Gliceria) San Angelo, Tx, daughter Rosa M. Esquivel (Eduardo) Eagle Pass, Tx, daughter Griselda Hernandez (Gerardo) Del Rio, son Alberto (Cynthia) Lubbock, Tx, and daughter Yvonne Uriega Del Rio, Tx. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Florencio and Dolores Sanchez, brother and sister-in-law, Evelio and Maria Sanchez, brother Rogelio Sanchez (surviving spouse Dora), brother and sister-in-law, Jesus and Olivia Sanchez, surviving sisters, Hercilia Soto (Encarnacion deceased), Olga Sandoval (Jesus), Arturo (Ana deceased), and Angelica Sanchez. Jaime served his country in the US Army for 2 years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with one Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, UN Service Medal National Defense Service Medal, ROK Presidential Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning from Korea, he found his passion in shoemaking and shoe repair and opened his own shoe shop in 1958. He then worked at Laughlin Air Force Base as a civil servant for over 20 years. After his retirement from LAFB, he returned to his old passion of shoe repair where he operated his own business for over 25 years. His latest passion was sitting in front of the television watching Fox News and CNN News staying current with all political news! Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021, 10:00am at Templo Tabernaculo at 1102 W. Martin St. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
