Isabel Garza Barrera, age 90, entered into rest Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born October 29, 1931 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her Beloved Husband, Humberto "Beto" Barrera; Her parents, Elizandro and Juanita Garza. Sons, Isidoro Barrera, Reymundo Barrera, and Oscar Barrera. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Rosalinda B. (Raul) Gonzalez, Maricela B. (Sergio) Guardiola, Humberto (Esmeralda) Barrera, Jorge (Mona) Barrera, Alonzo (Maribel) Barrera, Maria Isabel Barrera-Antu, Jimmy "Renee" (Christi) Navarro, Maricruz (Carlos) Calderon, Gabino (Norma) Barrera and daughter in law, Dr. Sally Barrera. 38 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank our youngest sister Maricruz B. Calderon for the unconditional love and care she had for her beloved Mami as she took into her home and cared for her the past 12 years until she was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. Isabel was a lifelong housewife, loving and caring for her husband of 37 years until his passing. Isabel lived a life of love and generosity. She was a great cook, and only knew how to cook for 20+ and shared many a plate with her comadres and bingo partners. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery
