Irene Garcia Ward

Irene Garcia Ward, 85, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, after a long and courageous journey with several health challenges.

Born in Inez, Texas, Irene was the beloved daughter of Francisco and Aurelia Garcia. She married the love of her life, John William “Bill” Ward II, in San Antonio. Together they built a life filled with love and family, making homes in Houston and Gonzales before settling in New Braunfels for their retirement years.

Irene is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Bill Ward; her children, Donna, Dan Jr., and Christina; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly.

Those who knew Irene will remember her strong spirit, unwavering determination, and her quick wit and fiery sense of humor. She touched many lives with her resilience, warmth, and love, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In accordance with Irene’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no memorial service will be held.
