Idolina Idalia Cerna entered eternal rest with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 10, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 29, 1945, in Del Rio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amelia Salazar; sisters, Oneida Pohl and Soveida Velasquez; and her late husband, Reynaldo Cerna.

She is survived by her children who loved and honored her: Julia Cerna, Gerardo Manuel Cerna, Mayra Nellie Cerna, and Gerardo Andres Davila Cerna. Idolina is also survived by her grandchildren, who loved and cared for her deeply: Amarae Celeste Villanueva, Ashley Marie Alvarez (husband Daniel Alvarez), Freddy Villanueva Jr., Ray Anthony Gonzalez II, Michael Alan Quicksall, and Guillermo Manuel Cerna.

Idolina was cherished by her great-grandchildren: Jordan Ray Flores, Alina Olivo, Janney Olivo, Cuauhtémoc Olivo, Amorette Alvarez, and Reynaldo Olivo. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought immense joy to her daily life, and her children reverenced her.

Idolina had numerous nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her. Her niece, Amy Pohl, was at her bedside with Idolina's children and grandchildren as she peacefully took her last breath on earth.

Idolina loved caring for her family, plants, the color green, and making people laugh. Idolina gave her life entirely to serve her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her late mother. She will be missed every day by her loved ones.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM, at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation will continue on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 509 W. Garza St., Del Rio, Texas.

Pallbearers include Gerardo Manuel Cerna, Gerardo Andres Davila Cerna, Ray Anthony Gonzalez II, Michael Alan Quicksall, Guillermo Manuel Cerna, and Jordan Ray Flores. Honorary pallbearer will be Freddy Villanueva Jr.

The interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
