Humberto Barrera, Jr., age 72, entered into rest on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1953, in Eagle Pass, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Marines and later graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor's degree.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Humberto Raul Barrera Sr. and Isabel Barrera, and his brothers, Reymundo Barrera, Isidoro Barrera, Oscar Barrera, and Pablo Salgado.

Humberto is survived by his loving wife, Esmeralda Barrera; his children, Monica Barrera-Lopez and her spouse Erik C. Lopez, Johanna Barrera, Carolina Barrera, Kristina Barrera, Araceli Barrera, Julia Barrera- Barboza and her spouse Michael Barboza, and Humberto Raul Barrera and his spouse Erica Del Rio; and his 13 grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Rosalinda and Raul Gonzalez, Maricela and Sergio Guardiola, Jorge and Mona Barrera, Alonso and Maribel Barrera, Maria Isabel Antu, Maricruz and Carlos Calderon, Gabino and Norma Barrera, and Jimmy (Rene) and Christi Navarro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation will continue on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St., Del Rio, Texas.

Military Funeral Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps and the American Legion Post #595.

The interment will be held at Westlawn Cemetery.
