Horacio R. Castillo, age 88, entered into rest on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Del Rio, Texas after a long battle with cancer. He was born on November 11, 1932 in Del Rio, Texas to Arturo and Virginia Castillo. He was the 7th child of 11 siblings. Horacio served in the United States Marine Corps and worked for the TXdot for 30 years. He enjoyed working on his trucks, keeping up with current events, spending time on the ranch with his brothers and loved being around his family most of all. He was preceded in death by his daughter Hilda Castillo and parents Arturo and Virginia Castillo. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years Josefina Castillo; daughter Cynthia Salazar and son David Castillo; grand-children Ramiro Orlando Salazar (Clarissa), Selinda Rodriguez (Gustavo), Monika Reyna (Ricardo) and Jessica Campos; great-grand-daughter Penelope Rose Reyna; brothers Uvil Castillo, Reginaldo Castillo and Rafael Castillo; sister Sara Escobedo and numerous nephews and nieces Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Full Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps and the American Legion Post # 595. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
