Hector M. Avenda�o, Sr., age 87, entered into rest December 21, 2014 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1927 in Melchor Musquiz, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Paula Avenda�o. Son Rolando Avenda�o. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Guadalupe Alvarez de Avenda�o. Children; Rosa Prieto (Moses Jr.), Hector Avenda�o, r. (Liz), Hilda Maldonado (Julio), Luz Lasca�o (Ruben), Blanca Ochoa (Jose), Patricio Avenda�o (Rose Marie), Francisco Avenda�o, Diana Rangel (Juan), Jesus Avenda�o (Rosa), Dora Garcia (Richard), Jose Avenda�o (Tammy). Sisters Maria Guadalupe Avenda�o de Nieto, Maria del Socorro Avenda�o de Sanchez. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren. He was a mechanic, father, grandfather and a great provider. He was active in his community and served as President of Local Chapter of Texas Migrant Council. In the 1970's he pioneered the movement and made sure all migrants were cared for and protected. Gentlemen with the honor of pallbearers: Hector Avenda�o, Jr., Patricio Avenda�o, Francisco Avenda�o, Jesus Avenda�o, Jose Avenda�o and Sergio Adrian Avenda�o. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014, from 5:00pm- 9:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014, 2:30pm, St Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
