Gustavo Adolfo Cardenas, age 69, entered into rest April 10, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born August 31, 1939, in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Gustavo F. and Araminta Cardenas. Daughter-in-law, Maria J. Cardenas. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Leticia Pena Cardenas. Sons Gustavo Cardenas III and wife Leticia, Ruben Cardenas and wife Esmeralda, Rene Cardenas and wife Cecilia, and Mario Cardenas. Brothers Rene Cardenas and Ricardo Cardenas. Sisters Aravela Torres, Norma Cardenas, Sylvia Delgado, and Carmen Castillo. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of the Class of 1957 from San Felipe High School. Mr. Cardenas founded Cardenas Bookkeeping, which he operated for over 25 years. Gentleman with the honors of serving as pallbearers are Victor Vasquez, Joe Li�an, Teofilio (Ted) Briones, Ricardo Delgado, Robert Delgado, Jr., and Hector Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearers will be David Castillo, Robert Delgado, Tino Fuentes, Ruben Pe�a, and Juan Lopez. Visitation will be held Monday, April 13, 2009, from 5:00PM-9:00PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chapel of Remembrance. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 1:00PM at El Principe de Paz United Methodist Church, 404 W. Chapoy St. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
