Guadalupe Aguirre, a devoted family man, passionate educator, and fisherman, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born on November 7, 1944, in Del Rio, Texas, to Hortencia and Roberto Aguirre, and was raised alongside his beloved siblings, Mario, Juan and Luis.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Guadalupe served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service and 35 years of civil service, he devoted his life to education as a special education teacher in the local school district. His compassionate spirit and quick wit made a profound impact on his students, helping them navigate challenges with both guidance and laughter. Mr. Aguirre was also a proud 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, actively involved in his community and dedicated to service and faith.

On April 28, 1968, he married the love of his life, Lupita Aguirre and together they built a beautiful family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Guadalupe was known for his infectious smile and warm spirit. Whether he was casting a line at his favorite fishing spot, watching his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys or sharing stories with family and friends, he brought joy to everyone around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lupita Aguirre; his brother, Luis Aguirre; his children Guadalupe Aguirre Jr., Brenda Aguirre, David and his wife Vanessa Aguirre; his cherished grandchildren, Alexia Aguirre, Madelynn Ortiz, Megan Ortiz, and Jacob Veloz. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Liam Gonzales.

Guadalupe Aguirre will be deeply missed, but his laughter, love, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy of joy and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
