George Henry White, age 88, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Portland, Texas. He was born on November 3, 1930 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Otila V. White; parents Louis White and Jannie Jefferson; brothers Andrew Bass and Robert Jefferson. Mr. White proudly served and retired from the United States Navy where he received a National Defense Service Medal. Left to cherish his memory are his children Shirley A. White, Annette W. Amey (Dane), Diana White, and Gerry L. White (Monica); siblings James Bass (Rutha), Elizabeth Rogers (Spencer), Tommy Bass (Cleo), Mary Jane Walker (Wilson), Ed Bass, Jr. (Linda), and Cora Jefferson Bailey; grandchildren Ashley N. White, Dane J. Amey, II (Brittany), Merkur T. Amey, John Anthony Lutz, Jr., Daniella L. White, Samantha M. White, and Jessika A. White; great-grandchildren Akaziah S. Richardson, Aeris V. Amey, and Aveah D. Amey; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Prayer Service at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Navy and American Legion Post 595. Interment to follow at Seminole Indian Scout Cemetery in Brackettville, Texas.
