Obituary

Francisco Venegas Carrillo, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully at his home in Del Rio, Texas, on June 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.

Born on March 1, 1946, in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, Francisco lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep compassion for others.

He spent approximately 16 years as a top Sales District Manager with American National Insurance Company, where he was widely respected for his leadership and excellence in sales. His outstanding achievements earned him the prestigious President's Award and numerous other national honors. His success in the company gave him the opportunity to travel the world—a testament to the impact he made in his field.

Before rising through the ranks, Francisco began as a door-to-door insurance salesman. He never forgot where he started, and he never lost sight of the people he served. If a client couldn't afford their premium, he would often pay out of his own pocket—because he understood how critical it was to have coverage during life's most difficult moments. His integrity and selflessness set an example not just for his clients, but for his children and grandchildren. He taught his family to always help others, and to treat every person with respect and dignity, regardless of their circumstances or economic status.

Francisco was married to his beloved wife, Paula S. Venegas, for 61 wonderful years. Their love and partnership were the foundation of a strong, close-knit family.

He is preceded in death by his father Francisco Venegas, his mother Rosario Carrillo, his eldest son Francisco Venegas III, and his siblings: Felix Venegas, Carlos Venegas, Santiago Venegas, and Paula Sanchez Venegas.

He is survived by his devoted wife Paula; his children: Eduardo Venegas, Maricela Martinez, Monica Faz and husband Gerald, and David Venegas and wife Imelda. He is also survived by his sisters Teresa Mojica and Rebecca Ramos, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward with love, pride, and the values he so passionately lived by.

Francisco will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, deep love for his family, and the way he lived his life—with humility, honor, and a heart always open to others. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
