Francisco Leon Cortazzo- beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with our Lord at the age of 87 on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on December 29, 1936, in Sebastian, Texas.

He will be remembered most as an avid hunter and skilled marksman. Leon achieved a perfect score to acquire a license to carry a firearm. At the age of 54, after diligently studying to acquire his pilot's license, he took his first solo airplane flight in March of 1990.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents Francisco Saverio and Petra (Olivarez) Cortazo and his sister, Yolanda Trevino.

He is survived by his wife, Evangelina Cortazzo, a brother, Frank Cortazo and a sister, Laura Cortazo. He is also survived by his children: Iris Guajardo (Arturo), Ana Mabrey (Steve), David (Diane), Martha Cortazzo (Jesse Cardenas), William Falls (Sandy), Roberta Del Bianco (George), Jaime Cortazzo (Veronica), Araceli Rubio (Marcos), Robert Cortazzo. Twenty-one grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews live to cherish his memory.
