It is with great sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Frances H Ponce on February 3, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. Left to honor her memory are her constant partner Hector Guerra, daughter Denise Ramos (Ruben, Jr.) of Houston, Michelle Marquez (David) of El Paso, Michael Hernandez (Mary) of Del Rio, Jo Ann Ponce of San Antonio, Armando Ponce, Jr (Susana) of San Antonio, and Rebekah Rivera (Mark) of San Antonio. Grandsons Christopher, Noah, Nicholas, Aaron, Joe Adam, Michael, Isaiah and Jacob. Granddaughters Mandy, Ashley, Amber, Italy and Turquoise. Great grandchildren Alexa, Shawn Michael, Andrea, Deyanira, Gabriel and Diego. Longtime and devoted friends Linda Pina and Sylvia Thompson. Frances is preceded in death by husband Armando Ponce, son Jacob Ponce, sister Maggie Hernandez, parents Blas and Manuela Hernandez and granddaughter Gabrielle Martinez. Frances was born and ultimately resided in Del Rio since the 80's. She was raised in Sanderson, Texas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was always willing to help a friend in need. She opened her heart, home and her kitchen to many. The family would like to thank the staff at Val Verde Memorial Hospital in Del Rio, and Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio, for their compassion and care. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Services conclude after the mass.
