Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, �"He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."� Fernando �"Chiro"� Lopez, age 56, entered into rest on April 8, 2010, at the Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, after suffering a severe stroke. He was born March 28, 1954, in Del Rio, Texas. Chiro was preceded in death by his parents, Lazaro Lopez, Sr. and Eulalia Lopez. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Martha T. Lopez; sons, Jaime T. Lopez and Mica Fernandez, Fernando �"Tata"� Lopez and Rosie Vasquez; daughter, Anais Lopez and Stuart Cary; brothers, Robert �"Toto"� Lopez and wife Lupe, Lazaro �"Pie"� Lopez, Jr., and Hector �"Chito"� Lopez and wife Lydia; sisters, Gloria �"Titi"� Magdaleno and husband Thomas, Viola �"V"� Sanchez, and Ana Lopez. He is also survived by his favorite cu�ado that he loved as a son, Alvin Tovar; numerous nieces, nephews, and a whole bunch of friends. Chiro was a devoted bread man of 29 years with Butter Krust Bread. He touched the lives of many people while on his bread route #3855. Chiro was a devoted sports fan of the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Longhorns but his favorite past time was playing online poker or sitting among family and friends playing a Texas Hold "�em tournament. Fernando enjoyed coaching his favorite sports. �"Coach"� taught softball, baseball, Boys and Girls Club basketball and pee wee football. Those of us that knew Chiro, knew how generous and giving he was; even after his passing, his generosity continues. Fernando will be giving the greatest gift of �"Life"� to 7 individuals that will be receiving his organs. Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. "� 9:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chapel of Remembrance. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Samuel Garcia officiating. A Chapel Service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Best friends left with the honor of pallbearers include: Gloria Flores, Jerry Flores, Lupita De Los Santos, Mando Salas, Arturo De Luna, Jr., Randy Taylor, Hector Chapa, Tony Rodriguez, Chris Molina, Donald Barrera, Lupito Garcia and Jesse " La Maceta" Rodriguez. Chiro had a request that his funeral be a celebration of his life"� so please join us as if you were going to watch his favorite sports game or play poker with him by wearing sports memorabilia or poker attire in his honor during both his viewing and funeral.
