It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Felipe Santiago Guerra "Chago", who gained his wings on April 29, 2026.

He is proceeded in death by his wife of 49 years, Maria Del Carmen Guerra; his parents, Jacinto Guerra and Felipa Guerra; his brothers: Samuel Guerra(Nena) ✝️, Armando Guerra (Elfida); sisters: Angelica Palafox (Javier), Santa Olivo (Don) ✝️, and Soila Magallanes.

He is survived by his children: Felipe Santiago Guerra Jr., Jessica Rodriguez (Jessie), and Jacqueline Guerra; grandchildren: Alex Rodriguez and Klaryssa Rodriguez; and great grandchild: Aracely Nicole Rodriguez; siblings: Jose Guerra (Linda), Guillermina Flores, Jesus Guerra (Dina), and Lourdes Flores (Jesus); various nieces and nephews.

Our dad was a loving, caring, and devoted father whose life was built around his family. His strength, kindness, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew him. He was the kind of man who would give his last to make sure his children were okay, always putting others before himself.

For many years, he showed true strength and dedication by commuting to Chicago to provide for his family — a sacrifice that speaks volumes about the kind of man he was. He was an incredible painter who took great pride in his work, earning the admiration and respect of his coworkers throughout his career.

After retiring, his giving spirit never slowed down. He continued to help others whenever he could and eventually returned home to Del Rio, where he worked alongside his siblings with Guerra Bros for some time.

He lived life with joy and loved to dance, enjoyed playing loteria, and was always active with his grandchildren whom he admired and loved deeply. He shared a beautiful bond with our mother, helping her make piñatas and creating memories filled with love and laughter. Those who knew him knew he had a big heart and a soul that touched so many.

The past seven months were incredibly difficult after the loss of his beloved wife, Carmen Guerra. Their love was one of a kind — a bond that time and even loss could not break. While our hearts ache deeply, we find comfort in knowing they are finally reunited, together again in peace.

Our dad leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories. His voice, his laughter, and the way he made us feel safe and loved will forever live in our hearts.

Though we are lost without him, we hold onto the love he gave us and the lessons he taught us. He will continue to guide us, just in a different way now.

Rest peacefully, Dad. Give Mom a hug for us. Until we meet again. 🕊️💔

The visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation will continue on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by a mass of christian burial at 3:00 PM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St., Del Rio, Texas.

The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
