With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mom Felipa De Jesus Dominguez, known to all as Chita, who left us on October 13, 2026, in McCamey, TX. She was Born on February 5, 1932, in Del Rio, Texas.
Chita Dominguez was born in Del Rio, Texas, and spent her childhood in nearby Quemado, where she attended Kershner School. Growing up along the border, she learned early the values of hard work, generosity, and community. As a young girl, she worked in the cotton and food fields, helping her family and building the resilience that would shape her life.
In 1948, Chita married Heraclio Dominguez in Eagle Pass, Texas. The following year, they settled in Del Rio, where she raised her five children in a humble two‑bedroom home near the Mexico border. Despite the small space, her home was always open. She never turned away anyone who needed food, comfort, or help—no matter the hour. Her kindness was instinctive, and her generosity knew no limits.
Chita lived her life with energy, curiosity, and joy. She loved driving, gardening, tending to her plants, caring for her dogs, and feeding her family with warmth and pride. She enjoyed swimming and riding bikes, teaching her children to swim with patience and laughter. She delighted in traveling anywhere she was invited to go, embracing every opportunity to see new places and make new memories—even well into her later years.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted Jehovah’s Witness, until her passing, Chita shared her love for her heavenly Father with everyone she met. She never knew a stranger; her smile and kindness made people feel instantly welcomed. She formed deep, cherished friendships with her brothers and sisters in the Del Rio Congregation, and later in the McCamey Congregation after moving there in 1993. Her ministry was her lifelong passion—she pioneered for many years, creating memories that friends and fellow Witnesses still treasure today.
Family was her heart. She adored her children and absolutely loved her grandchildren, spoiling them with affection and treats. She helped raise her nephews as well, extending her nurturing spirit to anyone who needed it. She was famous for taking pictures with everyone—family, friends, and even new acquaintances, always smiling, always capturing joy, as well as being a wonderful storyteller.
In McCamey, Chita lived out her days surrounded by family, faith, and the simple pleasures she loved. Her life was full—full of purpose, adventure, devotion, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and a heart that never stopped giving. Her memory continues to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew her.
She is preceded by her late husband Heraclio Dominguez Jr., as well as nine siblings
She is survived by her sister Hortencia (Tencha) Shearer from San Antonio Tx, her children Heraclio Dominguez III (Laco) and his wife Marina Dominguez from Quemado Tx, Juanita (Janie) M. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation for the care of their mother at the McCamey Convalescent Center as well as the care taken by the Sunset Funeral Home.
Her favorite verse in the Bible: Romans 8:38,39- 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers 39 nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Song 151 He Will Call
Life, like a mist, appears for just a day,
Then disappears tomorrow.
All that we are can quickly fade away,
Replaced with tears and sorrow.
If a man should die, can he live again?
Hear the promise God has made:
(CHORUS)
He will call; The dead will answer.
They will live at his command.
For he will have a longing
For the work of his own hand.
So have faith, and do not wonder,
For our God can make us stand.
And we will live forever,
As the work of his own hand.
2.Friends of our God, though they may pass away,
Will never be forsaken.
All those asleep who in God’s mem’ry stay,
From death he will awaken.
Then we’ll come to see all that life can be:
Paradise eternally.
(CHORUS)
He will call; The dead will answer.
They will live at his command.
For he will have a longing
For the work of his own hand.
So have faith, and do not wonder,
For our God can make us stand.
And we will live forever,
As the work of his own hand.
