Evangelina "Vangie"
San Miguel Cruz
Jun 8, 1947 — Jul 5, 2023
Evangelina "Vangie" San Miguel Cruz, age 76, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in Del Rio, Texas.
Vangie was born in Del Rio, TX on June 08, 1947. She is preceded in death by her late husband Jesus Manuel Cruz whom she was married to for over 45 years. Vangie passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones and in the care of Holy Savior Hospice.
Vangie was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into her motherhood. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Vangie was the rock of such a large family and devoted much of her time to her loved ones. She never hesitated to go above and beyond for them. Her lively spirit and kind heart were the highlight of any gathering and interaction. Vangie enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, music, taking care of her family, and a good carne asada with her favorite tejano music (and a miller lite in hand). Her strength will always be remembered as she overcame many obstacles throughout her life and persevered. An attribute many of us admired. She will be dearly missed, always loved, and forever remembered. We love you.
She is survived by her three children Sandra Hernandez, Raul Garcia, Patricia Garcia; her grandchildren Jassive Chapoy, Brandi Cardenas, Eric Garcia, Kristi Garcia, Chris Garcia, Bryan Contreras, Cassandra Cortes (husband Gilberto Cortes); and two great grandchildren.
