Esther R. Westfall, age 84, began her new life with the Lord in Heaven on July 10, 2014. She was born on June 17, 1930 in Del Rio, Texas. Esther spent 43 wonderful years married to her beloved husband Lee. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very kind and generous and loved talking and visiting with friends and family. Esther enjoyed tending to a variety of plants and flowers, loved cooking for family, watching novelas and caring for her pet cat Lady and her canary named Bird. A devout Catholic, she prayed the rosary every night finding peace and comfort. She had an infinite love for the Lord and spoke of joyfully entering his realm. She is preceded in death by her husband Leland A. Westfall, parents Pedro and Josefa Ramirez, brother Ernesto Ramirez, and son-in-law Neil Bornmann. Left to cherish her memory are her sons John Sarzoza and wife Alicia, Rene A. Westfall. Daughters Sylvia Palmer and husband Lee, Sandra Bornmann, and brother Hermilo Ramirez. She is survived by four grandchildren; Kenny Bornmann, Matthew Bornmann, Liana S. Bellamy, Julie Westfall and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary 6:30PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Pallbearers include: Kenneth Bornmann, Matthew Bornmann, Pete Ramirez, Antonio D. Alvarado, Gerald Faz, and Adrian C. Ortiz. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
