Enrique Rivera Cruz, age 80, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on April 8, 2026. He was born on March 15, 1946 and proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran.

Enrique was preceded in death by his parents Enrique and Maria Cruz; his siblings, Celestino Cruz, Chavela Sanchez, Cecilia Cruz, Matilde Cruz and Enocencio Cruz.

His is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Elena Cruz and their three sons; Enrique Cruz III (Tina), Edward Cruz (Joanne), and Eric Cruz (Chrissy). He leaves behind a loving legacy through his grandchildren: Vanessa Thompson (Matt), Draven Cruz (Karina), Christian, Emily and Jonathan Cruz, Averi, Emma and Eli Cruz.

He is also survived by his step-grandchildren; Adrian Hernandez and JT Cavazos.

Enrique was blessed with great-grandchildren; Nyjah Cruz, and Leila Cruz and step great- grandchildren; Olivia, Audrey and Donovon Hernandez.

He is also survived by his sister, Yolanda Carreon and her husband Ralph; his sisters in-law Melba Cruz (preceded by her husband Chencho) and Consulo Cruz (preceded by her husband Tino).

Enrique was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. His grandchildren were his world and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Cubs, and he enjoyed cheering them on throughout the years.

He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the love he gave to freely to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
