Emma McCarn was a beloved wife and mother who entered into rest on October 27th, 2016. She fought long and hard, as she had dealt with previous bouts of breast cancer at first in 2004 and then again in 2012, only to have it return in July of this year when she had been diagnosed again with cancer. However, this time it had spread throughout multiple parts of her body; primarily being her brain, spine, and spleen. Despite this diagnosis, she showed a tenacity that would inspire not only her family, but close friends as well, as she continued her fight to the very end regardless of what her prognosis said. Evident of this is the fact that she proved her doctors wrong on numerous occasions when she was told to only have days or even hours left to live. She lived just over the last 20 years in Del Rio, as she had also been a resident years before when she was younger. Before this, she was a resident of Enid, Oklahoma for about 14 years from 1983 to 1997 to which she still has many close friends from this area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny T. McCarn, her brother, Felix Zamora, as well as her parents Amalia Zamora and Encarnacion Zamora. She had a pure and genuine love that had no bounds. Her love was unconditional, as she especially held to a high regard for her children, as also for her niece Christina Martinez of whom she loved like a daughter. She always enjoyed going out to the movies, having coffee at River City Doughnuts, walking, or dining out with her family or friends. She also enjoyed watching tv at home or just visiting with friends and family. Some of her passions included her spiritual faith, as she was a devout Christian, and would pray religiously every night. Survived by her children, Danny Jr., Michael, both of Del Rio; niece Marie C. Martinez of Fort Worth; sisters Amalia Garza of Laredo, Maria Westbrook of Fort Worth, Concepcion Zamora of Fort Worth; and numerous other cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
