It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Eloisa P. Cantú, who peacefully departed on July 6, 2026, in Del Rio, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 23, 1927 in Comstock, Texas.

Eloisa was known for her unwavering strength and generous spirit. She found great happiness in gardening, crocheting and cooking. Eloisa was a member of La Sociedad de Guadalupanas and El Sagrado Corazon. She married Vicente B. Cantú on January 17, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Vicente B. Cantú; her parents, Rafael Perez and Dionicia Hernandez Perez; her siblings, Rafael Perez Jr., Severo Perez, Maria Sauceda, Mercedes Avalos, Ofilia Linarez and Teresa Aceves; and her granddaughter, Theresa Evelyn Cantú-Harkless.

Eloisa was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Dora Galan (Robert); granddaughter, Laura Buchhorn (Brad), and their daughters, Caroline and Rebecca Buchhorn; grandson, Roberto Galan III (Michele), and their daughter, Izabel Galan; grandson, Edward Galan (Maricela), and their sons, Isaiah and Moses Galan; son, Vicente Cantú Jr. (Deborah); grandson, Michael Cantú (Sharon), and their children, Bennett Michael and Audrey Blake; grandson, Stephen Cantú; son, Gerardo Cantú; daughter, Delia Cantú-Harkless (Darrell); granddaughter, Marissa McGraw (Arthur), and their daughter, Mya McGraw; grandson, Darrell James Cantú-Harkless (Caprice), and their daughter, Zoe Harkless; and grandson, Vicente James Cantú-Harkless (Sabrina), and their son, Joel Vicente Cantú-Harkless.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St, Del Rio, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Roberto Galan III, Edward Galan, Michael Cantú, Darrell James Cantú-Harkless, Vicente James Cantú-Harkless, and Stephen Cantú. Honorary Pallbearers are Brad Buchhorn and Arthur McGraw.

The interment will be held at Westlawn Cemetery, end of 2nd St, Del Rio, Texas.
