Elida Galvan Carvajal, age 87, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born September 19, 1930 in Del Rio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector T. Carvajal; parents, Brigida R Galvan and Jose Lopez Galvan and siblings, Josefa G Torres and Manuel Galvan. Elida G. Carvajal, lovingly known to many as Nana, was a beautiful, generous, compassionate, and caring woman who illuminated and touched the lives of all who crossed her path. A beloved and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Nana deeply loved her family, willingly placing their needs before her own. Serving as the family's pillar of strength, she provided unconditional love, support and encouragement. A devoted friend, Elida considered all in her life as family. Known for her cooking, she found great joy in entertaining family and friends with her delicious homemade meals. Through the love she shared and the lessons she instilled, Nana will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who will forever honor her exemplary legacy of selflessness and compassion. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Ramon Galvan; sons, George A. Carvajal and wife Rebecca of Del Rio, Jerry A. Carvajal and wife Webbie of Alpine, Mario Carvajal; daughter, Sylvia C. Estrada; grandchildren, Jennifer Carvajal, Rachel Carvajal, Caiti Carvajal and Roberto Carvajal; great grandchildren, Hayden Llanez, Diego Sierra, Hannah Martinez, Hailey Hernandez, Roberto F. Carvajal Jr. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, 5:00pm – 9:00pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 24th, at 12:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Rudy Elizondo, Hector Calderon, Gilbert Sanchez, George Carvajal, Jerry Carvajal and Mario Carvajal Services will conclude after the mass.
