Eduardo M. Ortega, age 94, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on October 13, 1931 in Del Rio, Texas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Arturo Ortega and Gabina Montejano, his sister, Lupe O. Kramer, and his grandson, Michael E. Ramirez.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Dolores R. Ortega; his son, Eddie Ortega (Carmen); his daughter, Diana O. Ramirez (Jose); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He proudly worked for 40 years at Del Rio and Central Glass Company. He was also a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family and all those who knew and cherished him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Pallbearers will be Joe Frank Ramirez, Ryan Ramirez, Jackie Chalupecky, Jose Ortiz, Robert Eason, and Arturo "Turi" Rocha.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation will continue on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by the mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 307 E. Losoya St, Del Rio, Texas.

The interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard and The American Legion Post #595.
