Edelmira Cumpian Cardenas, age 88, born February 7th, 1936 in Lampasas, Texas, has entered into eternal rest on July 26th, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. She married her first and only love Antonio L. Cardenas on April 12th, 1953 and were happily married for 62 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all.
A devout member to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Edelmira had an immense love for gardening, baking, and guiding all her children and grandchildren through life together. During the late '70s to the early 90s, her and her husband were the proud owners of the Cardenas and Sons Drive-Inn.
Edelmira is preceded in death by her parents Leocadio Cumpian, Ysidra Enriquez Cumpian, and husband Antonio L. Cardenas.
She is survived by her children Edelmira & Juan Loyo, Antonio Jr. & Patricia Cardenas, Alfonso & Erika Cardenas, Humberto Cardenas, Sylvia C. & Joe Martinez, Esmeralda & Ruben D. Cardenas, Thelma Cardenas, Mike & Maria-Olivia Cardenas, her grandchildren, Aricela, Kenneth & Anna, Giovanni & Natasha Loyo, Antonio III & Tiffany Cardenas, Christina & Matthew Bible, Venessa Cardenas, Alfonso Jr. & Kymberlee, Ruben & Samantha, Brandon & Nina Cardenas, Kayla and Jessica Cardenas, Rolando III & Sasha Chavez, Denise Y. & Kenneth P. Simon IV, Yvette Ann & Dustin Molina, Nadine & José Hernández, Analiza and Ruben A. The visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
The mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
The interment will follow at San Felipe Cemetery.
