Dorothy Maxson was born in Turlock, California on the 11th of October 1963. When she was a child, her parents moved her family down to Nicaragua and later Costa Rica. Growing up there Dorothy learned perfect Spanish and also grew up immersed in Latin culture. During her adult life she lived between the U.S. and Costa Rica finally ending up in Spring Branch, Texas. Dorothy had a great work ethic and a resilient character. She went back to school at the age of 50 and got her Bachelors in education, with this she was able to acquire a job with the state of Texas as contractor. She was grateful for both her work which she enjoyed and her coworkers whom she talked about daily. Dorothy loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She valued family and the people in her life above all else. In her spare time Dorothy could be found hanging out with her two dogs Sofia and bear, or chilling with her three cats listening to the likes of Willie Nelson or Julio Iglesias. She loved playing games like words with friends with her sister Carla or chess with her husband Delmiro. As a person Dorothy was both caring and understanding. She lived her life with a quiet grace blessing all those who met her.On Sunday morning September 25th, 2022 Dorothy succumbed to cancer leaving behind her husband, four children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, three siblings and a world that is surely a lonelier place without her. She will be missed.
