Obituary

Dorothy Joan "Jo Ann" Corenflos Morman

Dorothy Joan "Jo Ann" Corenflos Morman entered her eternal rest on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at her home in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born on December 7, 1934, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Samuel and Geneva Corenflos.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Geneva Corenflos; her beloved sister, Janet; Aunt Dot; and her devoted husband of 61 years, Richard Laurie Morman.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Pease and his partner, Frank, of Las Vegas, Nevada; her four children, Lori (Bruce) Lampman of Orlando, Florida, Richard K. Morman of New Braunfels, Texas, Terri (Lee) Elliott of Cibolo, Texas, and Jeffrey (Sara) Morman of Ogden, Utah.

Jo Ann was lovingly known as "Memaw" to her eight grandchildren: Katherine, Andrew, Kyle, Jennifer, Samantha, Richard, Chad, and Daniel. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Carson, Lyndi, Elliott, Cheylyn, Lawrence, and Emmitt, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Jo Ann and Richard were married after only six months of courtship, beginning a love story that would span more than six decades. As a proud military wife, she faithfully held the family together while Richard served as a KC-135 navigator during the Korean and Vietnam War eras. Throughout their military journey, they made homes in Texas, California, New Mexico, Florida, Maine, and Florida once again before ultimately settling in Texas.

Jo Ann found happiness in many pursuits throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and dressmaking, and she took great pride in her involvement with the Women's Garden Club of New Braunfels. She also dedicated many years as a volunteer with the antique exhibit at the Comal County Fair, where her commitment and service were recognized through awards and special acknowledgment.

In her later years, Jo Ann enjoyed water aerobics with her dear friend Judy, traveling on cruises, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they participated in sports, school activities, and band performances. Above all else, she cherished time with her family, whether traveling together or simply sharing conversation over a cup of coffee at home.

Jo Ann will be remembered for her devotion to family, her strength, kindness, and unwavering love. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.

Services for Jo Ann will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jo Ann's memory to the St.

Joseph’s Indian School or the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
