Heaven has gained an Angel, it is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Mother (Dora Rivera Mata), who left us on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 83. Surrounded by her loving family in her final moments. A sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of immense wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones.

Dora a pillar of strength and a beacon of love, her absence leaves a void in our hearts. Her passion for her children, cooking, baking, gardening and watching the Texas Rangers play baseball will be missed. Her unwavering spirit will forever be remembered by those who loved and met her.

She is survived by her husband Manuel Mata, (son) Raul Mata and (wife Gloria Mata) daughters Gracie Mata, Linda Zuniga (husband Gilbert Zuniga), Nancy Mata, Dora Mata. Grandchildren Clarissa, Claudia, Raul Mata, Jr., Christina De La Rosa, David Rivera and Michelle Rivera, Joseph Zuniga, Kimberly Coppenhaver. Great- grandchildren Lita, Elora, Luna Rey and Aria. Also survived by sisters Esperanza Garcia (husband Elijio}, Bertha Rodriguez, Lydia Martinez, Rosalinda Martinez and brothers Salvador Martinez Jr. (wife Mary Gloria), and Hector Martinez, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

To commemorate her remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home. 2020 N. Bedell Ave., Del Rio, Texas 78840 on Friday, May 31,2024 at 4 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 6:30 p.m.
