Don Ray Miller February 15, 1949 – April 20, 2025Don Ray Miller, 76, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2025.Born in New Braunfels, Texas, on February 15, 1949, Don was the beloved son of George Virge Miller and Alma Kathryn Miller. A lifelong learner and thinker, Don earned a bachelor's degree in Physics and later a Ph.D. in Cell Biology. He served as a professor at Harvard University, where he shared his passion for discovery and inspired countless students. He later worked at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, contributing to scientific research and education.He combined his scientific mind with entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of Conetrol Scope Mounts, a business he led with dedication and innovation.Don was a man of wide-ranging interests and deep passions. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he found joy exploring state and national parks, camera in hand, always ready to capture the beauty around him. He loved his family fiercely and cherished time spent together, whether traveling, solving crossword puzzles, or simply taking the scenic route. His quiet wisdom, curiosity, and warm presence will be deeply missed.He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lee Miller; his children, Donnie Lee Miller of Round Rock, TX , Thomas Gregory and wife Amanda Rachell Miller of Round Rock, TX, and Christina Lynne and husband Ryan Patrick Petrie of New Braunfels, TX; and his grandchildren, Teagan Layne Miller and Liam Thomas Miller of Round Rock, TX.A memorial service will be held in Don's honor on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Martindale, Texas.In lieu of flowers, the family encourages taking a walk in nature or enjoying a quiet moment of reflection in his memory.
