Obituary

Debra (Debbie) Ora Goble Churchwell, age 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 17, 2024 in Del Rio, Texas. Debbie was born on October 25, 1955 in Del Rio, Texas.

Debbie spent majority of her life in Del Rio. Many people probably didn't know young Debbie was named "Little Miss Del Rio" at a July Fourth revue, in Moore Park, to raise funds for the Del Rio Junior Baseball Association; as a prize, she received a large bride doll (almost as big as her) and $50 in prize money. Debbie used the prize money to buy her and twin brother,Mark, bicycles. She attended school in Del Rio and participated in 4H and showed animals. She worked many years at Laughlin Air Force Base as a civilian managing a hotel.

Debbie is survived by her loving son, Cody Harrison. Cody was great support to her during the decline of her health. She is survived by a twin brother, Mark Goble and Debra of Tomball, Texas, one sister Arma Jean Goble Winn of Round Rock, Texas, brother Roy Glen Goble of Lubbock, Texas, and brother Kelly Goble and wife Susan of Comstock, Texas, sister-in-law Gail Houser Goble of Ingleside, Texas, and brother-in-law Alva Baker of Comstock, Texas. Debbie is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 31 years, George Richard Churchwell. Her parents Armand D Goble and Doris Teague Goble, one brother, Jerry Goble and one sister, Brenda Goble Baker, and one brother-in-law Milby Winn.

Debbie was a kind, sweet, generous person, whom loved being a mother to her son, Cody and she loved her siblings and friends. Debbie's health problems limited physical activity, but it didn't keep her from reaching out to keep in touch with family and friends. Those surviving Debbie; Cody, family, and friends will greatly miss her and have the hope Debbie has found sweet rest and comfort from her long suffering for she was greatly loved.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1,  2025 from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home
